About the canvas work:
“The fundamental delusion of humanity

At some subconscious level we are inherently drawn to larger than
life representations of the human form. A colossus that dwarfs us stirs us to wonder and awe. We are captivated by giants
in movies and enthralled by tales of titans which permeate our lore.
This fascination with super humans is ingrained in us from infancy.
The first “god” we comprehend is the omnipotent being who reaches for us, cradles us, feeds us, and soothes us.
The first “others” we perceive are gargantuan beings of fantastic proportion.
I hope these large paintings might trigger some subliminal recollection
of ethereal associations with the human form. Through rendering the body in a colossal scale, I strive to present the divinity
we first identified with human flesh and then turn that fascination inward. Ultimately, I believe the largest truths lie
within our small frames. Our very corporeal vessels contain the answers we seek outside ourselves. - Michael
